New Director enters eCOGRA

16, July 2008- London, England- The Board of Director of the eCOGRA which is the online gambling player protection and standards organization named Chris Hobbs who was the head of Corporate Affairs at Microgaming has replaced Roger Raatgever as a Founder Directors of the independent, non-profit body. Bwin and 888.com are the other Founder Members.
Presently, the number of Board of Directors member in the eCOGRA charter are three and the Independent Directors number are four.
The CEO Andrew Beveridge reports to the Independent Directors, who are solely responsible for the eCOGRA executive control and also the working of Seals Compliance and Audit Committees which is responsible for the testing and monitoring of ‘Safe and Fair’ seal operators and reviews, control award and the cancellation of seals if necessary.
Chris Hobbs is a 45 years old senior executive of Microgaming head office located in Isle of Man. He is educated from one of the prestigious college in South Africa named Kearsney College and the University of Natal and holds Bachelors in Commerce and Science degree. His work experience includes Management experience in a chemical industry at Sentrachem Limited and corporate banking executive ABSA Bank in London and Johannesburg before working in Microgaming.
Michael Hirst OBE who was the previous chairman of the Board has welcomed Hobbs and thanked Raatgever for serving since 2003 when it was formed.
