Law suite filed by Oneida County

New York- 12 June, 2008, According to the Syracuse Post Standard, the Oneida County legislators have voted unanimously against the federal government on the decision to place the Oneida Indian Nation land of 13000 acres into trust.

The Madison County supervisor has given its approval to join the suit on Tuesday with the New York state.

John Campanie who is the attorney of Madison County commented that this lawsuit will contain the 20 argument which are raised against the decision of the trust. Under the decision of Federal Department of Interior which was taken last month to make 13,004 acres of Onieda Indian is tax exempted and under sovereign control of the tribe.

Also the Town board of Verona has voted without any dissent for filing a law suite with the sate and counties but they were rejected as informed by Owen Waller, the Verona town Supervisor.
