2 State Grants $750,000 for Casino project

November 4th, 2008

For the foremost renewal of the 1915 building, two states grant $750,000 on Monday. In recent years, The Stately Casino, has come down to poor condition and was long overdue for renovation.

On Monday morning all the community leaders came together at the Casino’s front deck to learn about the renovation and receive the grant from state Sen. As an addition to the Casino a big change is that locker rooms built in the 1940s will be removed. Recently added new locker rooms were at the contiguous pool area so that the old lockers are no longer desired.

The Casino has arranged dances, concerts, plays and a variety of recreational activities to construct for slightly more than $45,000. However, due to worsening and rising utility costs the two-story building has seen its usage turned down.

The President of the F.H. Buhl Trustees, which oversees the park in Hermitage, said that this project is going to be a big project.
